Chinese cardholders unaffected by leakage, MasterCard
font size

In light of the incident of credit card information leakage in the US, MasterCard International announced recently that Card Systems Solutions, Inc, which has been attacked by hackers, has most of its business in the US, and has never handled credit card business in Chinese mainland. It means that cardholders who applied for the MasterCard in Chinese mainland banks will not be affected by the incident.

MasterCard International has made clear in its statement that the leakage of clients' private information does not necessarily mean the credit cards will be usurped. MasterCard International has put forward requirements of improving Card System within prescribed time and promptly remedying safety loopholes.
