Helicopters soar into the dark sky. Minutes later, a few missiles hit the target like fire dragons. In a military drill held recently, missiles launched from new type helicopters hit target accurately. This signifies increased night combat capability of the army aviation of the People's Liberation Army (PLA).

Faced with problems brought about by the new helicopters equipped, the army aviation has set improving night combat capability as a key objective of training. The army aviation has found solutions to many technical problems by sending experts on missiles, maintenance and ground handling to work closely with pilots at the front line of training.

Grasping characteristics of the night combat in local war under high-tech situation, the army aviation has been actively exploring new training and combat methods. By carrying out training with strong pertinence in 10-odd subjects, a group of high quality flight commanders, trainers and key staff in logistic support have been trained.
