A New Zealand fleet left the port of Shanghai Tuesday at the end of its a five-day good-will visit.
The fleet, composed of an escort vessel and a supplementary tanker, is headed by captain Jack Raymond Steer, a senior navy officer of the New Zealand defense force.
The fleet has a crew of 226 members. During their stay in Shanghai, they visited a missile escort vessel made by China and a number of local scenic and cultural sites, including the Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai Museum and Yuyuan Garden.
The escort vessel, named Hmnzs Te Mana, is 109 meters long and 14.8 meters wide with a displacement of 3,600 tons. The supplementary tanker, named Hmnzs Endeavour, is 138.1 meters by 18. 4 meters with a displacement of 12,390 tons.
This was the fleet's third visit to Shanghai.
