Hong Kong Chief Executive (CE) Donald Tsang said that he has recommended the candidate for the post of Chief Secretary for Administration to the central government for approval.
He made the remarks at the first press conference after he was sworn in as the CE of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) in Beijing on Friday.
Tsang, who presided over a meeting of Hong Kong Executive Council Saturday, said he had asked all the members of the Executive Council members to remain their posts during his two-year term as the CE of the HKSAR.
He said he will reshape the Executive Council and invite the joining of more elite.
He will also solicit views of members of the Legislative Council for drafting details for HK government work in the coming two years.
He reiterated that improved governance, social harmony and economic development will be his priorities in the next two years.
