Israeli army arrested 15 members of the Islamic Jihad (Holy War) in both Ramallah and Hebron in the West Bank early Saturday, a spokesman of the movement said.
Khader Adnan, Jihad spokesman in the West Bank, told reporters that the 15 Jihad members are not militants of its armed wing Saraya al-Quds.
"These arrests of our members would never break Islamic Jihad determination to continue with the armed struggle and would lead to more escalation," said Adnan, calling on all militant groups to seriously evaluate this situation.
Among those detained are Palestinian women, he said, claiming the Israeli forces have been targeting Jihad members and detained more than 300 people within one week.
Meanwhile, Saraya al-Quds and al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the armed wings of ruling Fatah movement, have claimed responsibility for the armed attack near Hebron on Friday, in which a Jewish settler was killed and two others were injured.
Israel has vowed to crack down on Jihad militants earlier this week following the group's recent terror attacks against Israeli settlements.
