    Torrential rains disrupt railway lines in Fujian

    Chinese rescuers place stones to consolidate the roadbed of Waiyang-Fuzhou section of railway lines on June 24, 2005, in East China's Fujian Province. Continuous torrential rains and ensuing landslides in the northern part of the province have forced Fuzhou and Xiamen railway stations to suspend all trains after several railway lines were disrupted.

    Fiji prime minister kicks off China visit

    Fiji Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase arrived in Beijing on June 25 at noon for a working visit to China, days before the two countries mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. During the visit, Chinese President Hu Jintao, Premier Wen Jiabao and state advisor Jia Qinglin will meet with him.
