Egyptian-Yemeni summit mulls over regional issues
font size

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak talked on Saturday with his visiting Yemeni counterpart Ali Abdullah Saleh over regional issues and bilateral relations at Egypt's Red Sea resort Sharm el-Sheikh, the official MENA news agency reported.

Egyptian presidential spokesman Suleiman Awad was quoted as saying that the summit took up the overall regional situation, including the latest development in the Palestinian territories, the situation in Iraq and the Syrian-Lebanese relations.

The two leaders also probed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in economic, political and security domains, he said.

Saleh arrived in Egypt on Saturday for a three-day visit. The talk is the eighth of its kind between Mubarak and Arab leaders during the past two months to discuss the latest developments of the Arab issues.
