After a two-day seminar, the overall conservation plan of Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, Gansu province passed specialists' verification on June 27 according to Xinhua.
Fu Qingyuan, director of the experts group for the conservation plan, read out a final demonstration result on behalf of the participants.
He said it is the first ever-made cultural relic program for China to have the world's multidisciplinary cooperation with many units. The program is in the strict implementation of the working principle for the protection of cultural relics in China, namely "take preservation of cultural relics as the main task, give top priority to the salvage of endangered ones, make rational use of them, and enhance management of them" issued by the Chinese government. It is a prospective plan to achieve the heritage preservation conception of veracity, integrality and extension.
