Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met in Beijing on June 29 with a delegation of former Thai ambassadors to China.

Tang spoke highly of the contributions the former Thai ambassadors had made during their terms in China, adding that China and Thailand have undertaken strategic cooperation in various fields and made effective progress thanks to joint efforts.

The sound cooperation between the two countries plays an important role in promoting regional and international cooperation, said Tang.

China will stick to the road of peaceful development and engage in common development following the guideline of building good- neighborly relationship and partnership with surrounding countries, said Tang.

The delegation, led by Thailand's first Ambassador to China Kasem Samosorn Kasemsri, is scheduled to attend a seminar on Thursday as one of the event to mark the 30th anniversary of establishment of Sino-Thai diplomatic ties.

Kasem and other ambassadors said they will continue to make unremitting efforts for the further growth of bilateral friendship.
