India's per capita income up by 5.2 percent

India's per capita income rose by 5.2 percent to 285 US dollars (12,416 rupees) during 2004-05, said a Government statement on Thursday.

According to Central Statistical Organization (CSO) estimates, which released the statement, the per capita income during 2003-04 stood at 274 US dollars (11,799 rupees)

The per capita income in real terms (at 1993-94 prices) during 2004-05 is estimated to attain a level of 285 US dollars (12,416 rupees) as compared to 274 US dollars ( 11,799 rupees) in 2003-04, the CSO release said

The per capita income growth rate during the 2003-04 was 7.1 percent.
