China's huge advertisement market in the spotlight

The 13th Shanghai International Advertising Technology & Equipment Exhibition was opened on June 28, 2005. The exhibition, covering an area of nearly 40,000 square meters, has become the "top Asian advertising exhibition". The four-day-long exhibition attracted 400-odd manufacturers from 20 different countries such as China, the US, Germany, the UK and regions such as China's HK and Taiwan etc., showcasing the most advanced advertisings.

According to a report released by CTR Market Research, a leading market information company in China, the total expenditure on advertising in Chinese mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong in 2004 approached 360 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27 percent. Of the total expenditure, Chinese mainland took up 193.5 billion yuan, up 25 percent from last year.

The survey conducted by another world-famous TV Rating company, Nielsen Media Research, shows that the advertising industry in China will continue to maintain the rapid growth, and is expected to surpass that of Japan within next seven to ten years, becoming the global second largest advertising market. The huge potential of Chinese advertising market has formed irresistible attraction for the international advertising circles.
