Bird flu epidemic in Qinghai causes no human, poultry deaths

It is learned from the Qinghai Province Major Animal Epidemic Prevention and Treatment Headquarters: The bird flu epidemic erupted in Quanji Township (including the Qinghai Lake bird island), Gangca County, northwest China's Qinghai Province has so far not caused human infection, and none of the 2 million-odd domestic fowls has been found dead caused by infection of the disease.

According to Qinghai provincial health department head Chen Ziquan, up to now, no human and bird influenza case has been discovered. Qinghai provincial agriculture and animal husbandry department's deputy head Zhao Niannong said that after the avian flu epidemic was discovered in the Qinghai Lake migrant birds area, the province immediately allocated 3 million avian flu vaccines for the province's fowls inoculation and immunization, currently the immunization work has all come to an end. According to the follow-up monitor conducted by anti-epidemic personnel, none of the province's 2 million-odd fowls died from avian flu infection.

Death of birds in Qinghai bird flu epidemic area approaches a zero record

Reporters have learned from the Qinghai Provincial Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department on June 30 that the avian flu epidemic situation emerged in Quanji Township, Gangca County, Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Haibei, Qinghai Province has been relieved, currently, the death of birds has approached a zero record, none of the 10,000 young bar-headed geese died from bird flu infection.

According to Zhao Niannong, judging from the past two days' monitoring result, only two bead birds were found in the bird flu area on June 27, and no bird death was reported on June 28. Beginning from May 4 when some bar-headed geese were found dead from avian flu around the Qinghai Lake bird island area, there was for a period of time a notable upward trend in the number of bird deaths in this area, but there appeared a relaxed situation in bird deaths thereafter, and up to the present moment bird death has approached a zero record. What is gratifying is that around 10,000 young bar-headed geese have recently been incubated one after another around the Qinghai Lake bird island and none of them is found dead.
