Bomb attack outside Iraqi PM's party office kills one
font size

A suicide bomber blew himself up in his car outside an office of Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim al- Jaafari's political party in Baghdad on Friday, killing one and injuring several others, party officials said.

Jaafari was not in the building at the time, officials of the Islamic Dawa Party said. The car exploded near a checkpoint about 25 meters away from the party office, which used to be his house.

Insurgents have launched a series of suicide bombings and other attacks since Jaafari's government was formed in late April, killing over 1,000 people.
