Chinese tourists to Thailand will surpass 1million next year, predicted Juthamas Siriwan, the governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

This year marked the 30th anniversary of establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations and in recent years the tourism exchanges of two nations developed rapidly, she said in Beijing Sunday.

Thailand and China are now discussing establishing free trade zone, including tourism issue, said the governor, adding that tourism authorities of two nations vowed to provide more frequent air links, convenient visa procedure and quality service to tourists.

She said that according to the long-term goal of two governments, the visitors to either nation will reach 4 million by 2009, following the rapid trade increase.
