Chemical factory fire reignites in Taiwan
font size

The fire in a chemical factory in Taichung City of Taiwan reignited for the second time around ten o 'clock Monday, according to Hong Kong media reports.

Heavy smokes can be seen on the spot and emergency evacuation is underway, the media said.

It is initially believed that the reignition was due to the chemical materials stored in the factory which has not been burned completely as well as the hot weather, the media said.

The fire which started at noon of Sunday and left 16 injured was basically under control after five-hour of fire extinction. But in the evening, the fire reignited for the first time.

As large amount of chemically polluted water has flown into nearby rivers, the local environmental department is making related tests in an effort to know how serious the pollution is.
