The Chinese armed forces are ready to join hands with the Thai army to beef up bilateral military friendly cooperation, said Chinese Minister of National Defense Cao Gangchuan in Beijing on July 4.

Cao made the remarks when meeting with Oud Buangbon, the Thai permanent secretary for defense, and his party who are here to attend the fourth Sino-Thai security consultation.

Cao said China and Thailand are close neighbors, trustworthy friends and partners to each other. The two countries respect, support and sincerely treat each other, and have established traditional friendship as brothers.

Along with the deepening of Sino-Thai friendly exchanges and cooperation, the exchanges between the two armies have been further expanded, Cao said.

This year marks the 30th forging anniversary of Sino-Thai diplomatic ties, he said, and the bilateral strategic cooperation is facing new opportunities for development.

Oud Buangbon said Thailand treasures its traditional friendship with China, and hopes to further consolidate and develop bilateral friendly links.

The Thai government adheres to the one-China policy, understands and support China's adoption of anti-secession law, he added.

Moreover, he said the Thai army is willing to further enhance its friendly exchanges and cooperation with China.
