font size

Foreign and finance ministers of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Economic Cooperation Program member nations had a luncheon here on Monday to make preparations for the second GMS summit due to open on July 4.

The ministers spoke highly of the achievements the GMS program has made since the first summit was held in 2002, and agreed to continue to strengthen regional cooperation.

They also discussed a draft Leaders' Declaration, a key document expected to be adopted at Tuesday's summit, and agreed that the draft had pooled the viewpoints of all parties and could be submitted to the Tuesday summit.

The ministers also discussed other preparatory work for the summit.
