font size

Ambassadors of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia to China Tuesday presented flowers to a bust statue of Simon Bolivar, known as the liberator and forefather of the Latin American nations.

The statue, 78 centimeters high and 75 centimeters wide, stands in the international friendship forest in east Beijing's Chaoyang Park. It was created by Chinese artist and sculptor Yuan Xikun last year at the invitation of Venezuelan embassy.

During Venezuelan President Hugo Rafael Chavez's visit to China last December, he unveiled the statue and presented flowers to it.

Diplomats from 10-odd Latin American countries attended the ceremony of flower presenting.
