China biggest victim of anti-dumping for 9 consecutive years
font size

In recent years, as its foreign trade enters the expanding period, China becomes the biggest victim of trade disputes worldwide. According to the statistics of World Trade Organization (WTO), 1/7 of its members' antidumping investigations involved products from China, beginning from the establishment of WTO in 1995. China has been the country that receives the most antidumping investigations for 9 years in succession.

The statistics show that the developed countries initiated 31 antidumping investigations against China in 2004, increasing by more than 20 percentage points compared with the last two years. China's trade disputes with the United States and EU made the situation even worse in the first half of 2005.

Some experts pointed out that in the next 20 years China would complete the transformation from a big country in trade to a strong one in trade. Apart from the trade disputes with other trade powers over the products like textiles, footwear and furnishings, etc., China will have more trade disputes with the U.S. and Europe over products with higher added values.
