Chinese Vice-Premier Wu Yi made the remarks while meeting with a delegation of the Sinocon Industrial Standard Foundation headed by Chiang Pin-kung, vice-chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT). Chiang and his delegation are here to attend a Cross-Straits Forum on Industrial Standards in the Information Industry.

Wu said the mainland welcome the foundation to work with relevant mainland parties on studying and formulating IT industrial standards to improve both mainland and Taiwan's IT industrial global competitiveness.

Strengthening cross-Straits economic exchange and cooperation serves the common aspiration and fundamental interests of both mainland and Taiwan compatriots, she said.

"We're ready to talk with Taiwanese parties, organizations and personage who adopt the '92 consensus and oppose Taiwan independence and exchange views," she said.

She said the mainland government will take forceful measures to promote cross-Straits economic and trade exchange and hear Taiwan compatriots' views and suggestions on setting up a cross-Straits economic cooperative mechanism.
