According to Haier Group, more than 10 million Haier "Patriot" decoding chips of digital television have been sold. It is the first commercialized chip with China��s independently self-developed intellectual property rights in China's digital television field.

Haier Group has been doing researches on the chip of digital televisions since 1997. Haier (Beijing) IC Design Company Ltd. was founded to specialize in the research of the core technologies of digital television in 2000. Since then, Haier has developed a series of decoding chips of digital television with its own intellectual property rights: "Patriot I","Patriot II", and "Patriot III". Haier "Patriot III", which achieves the international leading level, was officially put into mass production in September 2003. It created a miracle by selling over 1 million pieces after coming into the market only for three months.

Haier Group successfully released "Patriot IV" chip and QPSK demodulating chip last year. Till now, the sales of Haier decoding chip of digital television has exceeded 10 million pieces, the only China developed chip hitting this record.
