font size

A spokesman for Hong Kong Security Bureau said on Thursday that Hong Kong Immigration Department had received three requests from Hong Kong residents for assistance as of 7:00 p.m. local time following the explosions in London earlier in the day.

He said the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government is liaising with the Chinese Embassy in Britain and the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong to understand the situation and follow up the incident to offer any practicable assistance to Hong Kong residents if necessary.

The spokesman said Hong Kong residents who are in London and in need of assistance may contact the Chinese Embassy in Britain or call the 24-hour hotline (852) 2829 3010 of the Immigration Department.

At least two deaths and 90 casualties were confirmed in about six explosions that simultaneously rocked central London on Thursday morning, British authorities said.
