EU to launch anti-dumping investigation of Chinese-made shoes

The European Union (EU) has decided to kick off an anti-dumping investigation into certain footwear with uppers of leather produced in China and Vietnam, according to sources with the China's Ministry of Commerce on Thursday.

The EU's investigation will span a period from April 1, 2004 toMarch 31, 2005. It is expected to involve over 1,200 Chinese enterprises, with 670 million US dollars in value, according to the website of the ministry.
