Top party leader of northeast China's Liaoning Province said Friday in Dalian that the visit of Taiwan New Party delegation is conducive to "fostering a sound atmosphere to boost unity among Chinese people across the Taiwan Strait".

The visit has highlighted the same root and ties of blood of compatriots across the Taiwan Strait," said Li Keqiang, secretary of the Liaoning provincial committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The 30-member New Party delegation arrived in Dalian, a port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province, Friday afternoon for the third leg of its eight-day mainland tour under the theme of commemorating the 60th anniversary of China's victory in the resistance war against Japanese aggression.

"Unity brings forth power," said Li. "Only when the whole nation are united and work together, can the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation be realized."

New Party Chairman Yok Mu-ming, who heads the delegation, said Dalian has been chosen as a stop because of Liaoning and Dalian's long suffering from Japanese aggression.

The delegation began the mainland tour Wednesday and has since visited Guangzhou and Nanjing. After Dalian, it will also visit Beijing.
