font size

The Danish consulate was inaugurated on Friday in Chongqing, the economic hub of Southwest China.

As the fifth Danish diplomatic establishment in China, the new consulate is in charge of consular affairs in Chongqing and the three southwestern provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou, said Consul Jacod Skaarup Nielsen at the inauguration ceremony.

The consulate would provide more services to Danish enterprises that come to participate in China's development of the vast western area, said Danish Ambassador to China Laurids Mikaelsen.

It would serve as a bridge between Denmark and western China for economic and cultural exchanges, he said, adding that it was significant to set up the consulate on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Denmark and China.
