Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met Friday in Beijing with Zambian president's special envoy Ronnie Shikapwasha.
Li spoke highly of Sino-Zambian traditional friendship and fruitful cooperation in various fields, and thanked the Zambian government for its support on one-China policy and human rights issue.
Shikapwasha, also Zambian foreign minister, appreciated China's assistance to Zambia's economic development and national construction, saying Zambia will further its cooperation and consultations with China in international affairs.
Shikapwasha expressed thanks for China's support and help when a Chinese-owned mining explosives factory blew up on April 20 in Zambia, causing 46 deaths.
Chinese President Hu Jintao and Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing sent their condolence to their Zambian counterparts, expressing shock to the accident and offered the Chinese government's assistance to handle the aftermath of the blast.
