Shanghai senior legislator meets with Taiwan delegation

Zhou Muyao, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, met with a 24-member delegation of from Taiwan in Shanghai Friday.

The delegation, composed of 24 congress members from the counties and cities in Taiwan, visited Shanghai after participating in a forum on cross-Straits cooperation held at Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province. They discussed ways to intensify all-round cooperation between counties and small cities across the Taiwan Straits.

In Shanghai, they will also discuss with local legislators ways to promote cooperation in economy, culture and urban development.

Shanghai has entered a new round of economic growth, and many Taiwan compatriots have contributed a lot to the city's economic growth, Zhou said.
