China's top advisory body concluded a the Standing Committee on social harmony Friday, with the participants putting forward many good proposals and suggestions, according to sources with the meeting.
Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said political consultative conferences at all levels shoulder due responsibilities for China's endeavor to build a socialist harmonious society.
At the closing of the 10th meeting of the 10th CPPCC Standing Committee, Jia called on members of the people's political consultative conferences to contribute views and suggestions on economic and social development, unifying all social forces, practicing democracy and serving the people.
He said Party committees and governments at all levels should also give play to the role of the advisory bodies in building social harmony.
It was adopted at the meeting that Lu Debing, vice-governor of central China's Henan Province, has his membership of the 10th CPPCC recalled.
