font size

China and the United States Friday ended the two-day Military Maritime Consultative Agreement (MMCA) meeting in east China's Qingdao city.

The two sides had a candid and in-depth exchange of views on issues of military safety at sea, according to sources with the Chinese Ministry of National Defense.

Under the MMCA mechanism launched in 1998, China and the United States have held four annual meetings and nine working group meetings, in addition to consultations and discussions on three specific topics, which helped enhance mutual understanding and cooperation in maritime military safety, the sources said.
