Chinese friendship delegation visits Nepal

A delegation of Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAFIU) left Nepal Saturday after a 4-day friendly visit.

During the visit, the delegation met with Kirti Nidhi Bista, Vice Chairman of the Nepali council of ministers, or cabinet.

Bista expressed his hope to further promote the friendly bilateral relations between Nepal and China.

"The Nepalese people have sincere feeling of friendship and admiration for China and Chinese people and we aspire to see this relation gaining meaningful maturity and comprehensiveness in the real sense," Chairman of Nepali China Study Center (CSC)Madan Regmi said at a seminar organized in honor of the delegation..

China is already a great economic power and Nepal has the potential to develop bilateral economic cooperation with China for the mutual benefit and also for South Asia, Regmi noted.

"Though, Nepal and China are neighbors and close friends, we have to make more effort to build the desired and timely edifice to strengthen our relationship," Regmi added.

The Chinese delegation had been on the visit to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-China diplomatic relations.
