Top advisory body holds lecture on democracy, legal system
font size

China's top advisory body held Saturday a lecture on "insist ruling the country by law and construct socialistic political civilization."

The lecture, presided over by Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), is the sixth that the 10th CPPCC Standing Committee has held.

Jia called on steady reform of the country's political mechanism, expanding the socialistic democracy and promoting a sound legal system during the lecture.

He also highlighted the role that CPPCC has played in China's political structure, whose members are from various social sectors, and encouraged them to contribute more to the improvement of country's legal system.
