Gov't hails Chia Tai Group to invest more in China

China appreciated the contribution of the Chia Tai Group of Thailand to China's development and hoped it would invest more in China, Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju said Saturday.

Thai company has been actively participated in China's economicre form and construction and contributed a lot to the development of China's agriculture and animal husbandry, as well as economic and trade cooperation between China and Thailand, Huang said during a meeting with President Dhanin Chearavanont of the Chia Tai Group.

The Chinese government will continue to encourage the Chia Tai Group to increase investment in China and support its development here.

Dhanin Chearavanont said his company would improve cooperation with Chinese companies and further explore its business in China.

Chia Tai Group, a multinational conglomerate known as the Charoen Pokphand Group outside China, is the first foreign company to invest in China after the country adopted the reform and open-up policy in the late 1970s.
