22 dead in coal mine blast in Xinjiang

A gas explosion occurred on 2:30 on July 11 at Shenlong Coal Mine in Fukang County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region while 87 miners were working underground, according to Xinhuanet.

Till now eight have been lifted up to the ground, among whom three dead. 19 are confirmed dead underground while 60 remain unaccounted for.

The cause of the blast is under investigation.
