One of the four al-Qaida suspects who escaped from US detention center in Bagram Monday was rearrested Monday night, a senior Afghan police official said Tuesday.
"The man, a national of Saudi Arabia was recaptured by personnel of Rapid Reaction Force and US troops from Gali village in Bagram at 10 p.m. Monday night," Abdul Khabir told Xinhua.
Four suspected al-Qaida operatives, all of whom Arabs, escaped the US army fortified prison in Bagram, 50 km north of the Afghan capital Kabul on Monday.
Search operation for the location and rearresting of the other three terrorists is going on, the official added.
However, no US military official was immediately available for comment.
Over 400 suspected Taliban and al-Qaida operatives have been languishing in 23 US holding facilities in Afghanistan.
