A Chinese senior official called on people to carry on the revolutionary spirit to realize the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation when visiting an exhibition in Beijing on July 12.
Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks when visiting the exhibition of the "Taihang Mountain Spirit" at the Beijing-based Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution.
The "Taihang Spirit" comes from the braveness of people living in the Taihang Mountainous area in north China's Shanxi Province when fighting in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in the 1940s and making great contributions to the final victory.
Together with the Jinggangshan Spirit, the Long March Spirit, the Yan'an Spirit and the Xibaipo Spirit, the Taihang Spirit has served as a fundamental inspiration to help the CPC win the revolution.
Li called on Chinese young people to learn from those who fought the Japanese from 1937 to 1945 and to contribute to the country's modernization.
