New Party delegation leaves Beijing
font size

A delegation of the New Party left Beijing on Wednesday for Taiwan after concluding its eight-day mainland trip to commemorate the 60th anniversary of China's victory in the resistance war against Japanese aggression.

Headed by Yok Mu-ming, chairman of the New Party, the 30-member delegation had traveled to the four mainland cities of Guangzhou, Nanjing, Dalian and Beijing, during the "journey of the Chinese nation".

The delegation left Beijing at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday by a Southern Airline plane and will return to Taiwan via Hong Kong.

Yok and his delegation were seen off at the airport by Chen Yunlin and Li Bingcai, director and vice director of the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and Sun Zhengcai, standing committee member of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC.

Before his departure, Yok made a brief speech to the media, saying that the delegation's mainland trip is "quite smooth" and has "reaped a lot".

"Comments collected from the netizens show mainland masses warmly welcome our visit," said Yok.

Before boarding the plane, Yok made a deep bow to express his gratitude to the mainland's warm reception.
