Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao presided over an executive meeting of the State Council, China's cabinet, on Wednesday, to analyze China's current economic situation and discuss economic work in the second half of the year.
Wen heard a report presented by the State Development and Reform Commission on the economic situation of the first half of the year, as well as suggestions on the economic work in the second half of 2005.
In the past two months, the State Council and other relevant departments have made a comprehensive review of the economic situation and have started to work out measures for economic management in the remaining six months of the year.
The State Council has held symposiums to hear suggestions and proposals from the non-Communist parties, experts and scholars, and local governments.
