According to the latest statistics released by the Ministry of Commerce China contracted $86.191 billion foreign funds from January to June, increasing by 18.99 percent year on year. Newly set up foreign-funded firms reached 21,212 with $28.563 billion in place, down 1.79 percent and 3.18 percent respectively.
By the end of June 2005 546,590 foreign-funded companies have been inaugurated in China, with contracted investments totaling $1,247.691 billion and actually used investments totaling $612.963 billion. More than 190 countries and regions have had investments in China, with nearly 450 of the top 500 transnationals investing here.
