The Cross-Strait Agriculture Cooperation Exhibition and Taiwan Agricultural Products Trade Fair will be jointly held by Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Agriculture and General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in Shanghai from July 18 to 20.

The event is a substantial move to carry out Chinese government's decision on facilitating the marketing of Taiwan agricultural in the mainland. It is built as a platform for the cross-Strait agricultural trade to promote the agricultural exchange and cooperation between China's mainland and Taiwan. It is expected to boost and bring mutual benefits to the agricultural development of both mainland and Taiwan by making use of complementary advantages .

This is be the first time to display Taiwan agricultural enterprises' fruitful efforts on the mainland. Among the 235 enterprises that take part in the exhibition, nearly 1/3 are from Taiwan. It is the largest scale of exhibition in which all levels of the agricultural associations, organizations and enterprises of Taiwan take part in China's mainland. Exhibitions and sales will go on at the same time during the fair.

By the end of last year, there had been already nearly 5000 Taiwan agricultural enterprises investing in the mainland. The contracts valued nearly 4 billion US dollars of Taiwan investments, in which nearly 3 billion US dollars are in practical use. The agricultural exchange and cooperation between mainland and Taiwan have achieved remarkable results.
