Israeli forces, backed by jeeps and armored vehicles, stormed the West Bank city of Nablus early Thursday and killed one Palestinian militant, Palestinian medics and witnesses said.
The forces raided Rafidia neighborhood in Nablus and shot dead Mohamed al-Aasi and detained a Palestinian interpreter, said witnesses and medics at Rafidia Hospital.
They said that the interpreter was a resident of Nablus and he was interpreting for a British journalist who was doing an interview with al-Aasi.
Meanwhile, an Israeli military operation in the city of Tulkarm continued for the second consecutive day following Tuesday's Netanya suicide bombing attack carried out by a Palestinian militant from Tulkarm, which killed four Israeli women and injured some 90 others.
Right after the attack, Israeli soldiers reoccupied Tulkarm, which was handed over to the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) in March as part of a ceasefire deal reached by Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in a summit in February.
