President of EU Commission to visit HK

Jose Manuel Barroso, president of EU Commission, will arrive in Hong Kong from Macao next Monday on an official visit, a government press release said Friday.

According to schedule, the president is visiting Beijing and will go to Shanghai, Macao and Hong Kong.

The Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Donald Tsang will meet the president and host a lunch in his honor.

While in Hong Kong, Barroso and his entourage will visit the Legislative Council. He will address a business reception in the evening before leaving Hong Kong.

This is Barroso's first visit to China as president of EU Commission.
