A suicide bomber blew himself up at a police convoy in southern Baghdad on Sunday, killing three people and wounding 13 others, police said.
"A suicide bomber blew up a booby-trapped vehicle at a police commandos convoy in Baghdad al-Jadida, a southern suburb of the capital," Col. Ammar Hassan told Xinhua.
The attack killed three people, including two police commandos, and wounded 13 others, including nine policemen, he added.
Earlier police reports said the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.
In another attack Sunday morning, a car bomb blast in western Baghdad killed one police commando and wounded three civilians, said a police source on condition of anonymity.
The attacks came hours after a suicide bomber blew himself up in a fuel truck near a gas station, killing at least 60 people and wounded more than 80 others in a mainly Shiite town south of Baghdad on late Saturday evening.
Insurgents launched a series of suicide bombings in the past two days, killing dozens of Iraqis, most of them policemen and soldiers.
