A US soldier was killed and two others were wounded in a roadside bomb blast in northern Iraq, the US military said on Sunday.
A soldier assigned to Task Force Liberty was killed at 04: 00 p. m. (1200 GMT) on Saturday when an "improvised explosive device" detonated in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk, the military said in a brief statement.
The two injured soldiers were have been evacuated to a US military facility, it added.
The name of the victim was being withheld pending notification of next of kin, the statement said.
Over 1,750 US soldiers have been killed in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003, according to media tally.
