A total of 303 Chinese and foreign companies have applied to attend the 2nd Sino-ASEAN Expo slated for Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region bordering Vietnam, in late October, organizers say.

These applicants are from industries ranging from automobile and motorcycle components, machinery, food processing, packaging equipment, to electronics and IT, according to the organizers.

So far, 37 companies from Japan and the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have rented 89 booths for the exposition.

In a letter to the secretariat of the Sino-ASEAN Expo, the trade promotion bureau of Vietnam, an ASEAN member, says it will send a 300-member delegation to the incoming exposition and will rent 80 booths.

Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar and Japan will also dispatch procurement missions of some 880 traders to the fair, said the organizers.

The ASEAN comprises Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and the Philippines.
