Beijing's software exports accounted for 37.3 per cent of China's total software exports in the first six months of this year, reaching 227 million USD, according to the latest customs statistics, Beijing Daily reported. This has boosted the software industry in the entire Bohai Bay-rim and help to optimize the country's whole exports mix.

The number of enterprises with more than 1 million US dollars export has increased from 18 last year to the 29 in the first half of this year which exported 93.26 million US dollars software products, making up 76.3 per cent of Beijing's software exports. Most of the orders were for application software which valued 74 million USD in the first six months, an increase of 1.7 times over the same period last year, according to Beijing Customs.

"The number of Beijing's software professionals tops the country," said an insider. There is the biggest software export base in Beijing with the most enterprises and the large number of software employees in Beijing out of the whole country. There are 3 software parks, three incubators and four specialized bases in the capital city of China. The public technical system supporting the development of the software industry is improved day by day.

"Beijing's software exports still face 'bottleneck', the access to the high-end market in the world", described an export with the Ministry of Information Industry when speaking of the city's software industry. According to Beijing Customs statistics, the Bohai Bay-rim exported 32.836 million USD of software products to the European and American markets, merely accounting for 17.1 per cent of the regions total software exports. Whereas, the European and American markets represent a "lion's share" in the global software market.
