Sri Lanka fish exports stands 44 mln USD in 2004

Sri Lankan fish export in 2004 recorded 4.4 billion rupee (around 44 million US dollars) as against 3.3 billion (around 33 million dollars) in 2003, official Daily News reported Tuesday.

According to the Sri Lanka Export Development Board sources, Sri Lanka mainly exports frozen fish and fish fresh.

The frozen fish was the main foreign exchange earner to the country. It registered a total value of 3.5 billion rupee (about 35 million dollars) in 2004 and 2.2 billion rupee (about 22 million dollars) in 2003.
