China's insurance industry has raked in 270.9 billion yuan (about 32.76 billion US dollars) in premiums in the first six months of the year, up 14.2 percent year-on-year, says a report from the Insurance Regulatory Commission.
The total assets of the country's insurance companies reached 1.36 trillion yuan (about 164.45 billion US dollars), up 15 percent since the end of last year.
The premium of property insurance presently totals 67.8 billion yuan (some 8.2 billion US dollars), up 15.6 percent year-on-year while life insurance witnessed a 13.4 percent growth in premium to reach 180.2 billion yuan (about 21.79 billion US dollars).
A premium of 22.9 billion yuan (2.77 billion US dollars) has been generated by health insurance and accident insurance.
