Chinese vice premier meets Canadian and Nigerian guestsChinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan met in Beijing Monday respectively with Canadian Industry Minister David Emerson, and Aliyu Mohammed Gusau, national security adviser to Nigerian president. During the meeting with Emerson, Zeng said the relations between China and Canada have developed rapidly since the two countries forged diplomatic ties 35 years ago. The economies of the two countries are mutually complementary, he said, adding he hoped that the two governments would create conditions for their enterprises to conduct investment and trade in the fields of energy resources, railways, aviation and telecommunication. During the meeting with Mohammed Gusau, Zeng said the Chinese government values the traditional friendship between China and Nigeria, and pays great attention to the aspiration of Nigeria for furthering economic cooperation, including the development of trade, energy resources, and water and electric power.
