A business park catering to the Republic of Korea (ROK) is being built in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.

Situated at Taiping Township of Daoli District, Harbin, the business park, covering an area of 4.18 sq km, will cost 500 million US dollars to construct, said sources from from Heilongjiang Provincial Information Center, a department of the provincial government.

The park will have four zones specializing in the wholesale of light industrial commodities from the ROK, processing of ROK-oriented export organic food, IT and automotive businesses.

The business park will be completed in three stages, the first to be ready for the settlement of 10 new businesses before December. When the park is finished in late October 2007, it will be home to 100 industrial businesses.

Up to now, 12 million yuan (about 1.45 million US dollars) has been spent in building infrastructure for the business park, including 3.1 km of roads, facilities for water and power supplies.
