The US-based fast-food giant McDonald's is set to open its 681st Chinese branch in Guiyang, capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province around October 1.

The signing ceremony of the land lease for the new restaurant was held Tuesday in Guiyang. Situated at Fushuinan Road, Nanming District of the city, the restaurant will cover an area of 500 square meters with 180 seats inside.

"We are confident about our new restaurant in Guizhou," said McDonald's Corp. (Shenzhen) regional manager Chen Jinfa in a statement.

The private enterprise plans to continue to expand across the province.

As a world famous fast-food chain, McDonald's has opened over 30,000 restaurants in more than 120 countries.

In 1990, McDonald's opened its first Chinese branch in Shenzhen. By the end of June this year, the total number of McDonald's outlets in this nation reached 680.
